Fish Tacos

I attempted Fish Tacos tonight, and although they were good, they weren't GREAT!! I am looking for some ideas....any kind of fish any old way....I'm open for suggestions/ideas/advice!!! Here's what I did:

seasoned tilapia then baked it in the oven for about 15 minutes..served on corn tortillas with spicy ranch, cabbage slaw, tomatoes and avacodos.

Like I said, it was good...but would like to start cooking more fish....send me what you got!!!

Thanks for reading!!

Cindy

I have had fish tacos in restaurants but I have never made them. Your recipe sounds very good!

Tyler Florence has two good recipes on the food network site. I haven't made fish tacos in years and when I did I used Gortons breaded fish filets with all the trimmings. I know it was a terrible cheat but I was really busy at the time. They were by the delicious.

I found this recipe on all recipes recently and LOVED it (although it's not the healthiest):

Cindy - That is so funny! We were just talking last night how we need to start eating more fish. My idea was that if we went to Kemah or Galveston once a month - that would do the trick!!! My crazy husband said it'll be better at home!?!?! What is he thinking??? He has seriously lost his mind!!!!! ;) lol

I haven't made fish tacos yet. Yours sound really good! I'm trying to get more fish in our diet too as it's so healthy.

I've never had fish tacos. I'm not much of a fish fan, but am trying to be because it is healthy! This week I'm making a seasoned tilapia fillet recipe I hope turns out great. Maybe i could turn the leftovers into tacos.

Hi ALL! All of these recipes sound so yummy..can't wait to try them all!! Next time, I'm going to try one of the Tyler Florence ones...I did see that one, but I wanted baked last night...I'll have to try fried fillets also!!

Another fav of mine and Tara's (I think it may even be on this site) is tilapia with picante sauce on top, then cheese, bake for about 15 minutes, then top with crunches up fritos...it is sooo good!! BUT defeats my whole purpose of being healthy ;) !! KATHY..I'm with you...let's head out for the fish, but I'm all for my man bringing some in from fishing and cooking it up on the grill...YUMMY!

Next week we try shrimp tacos!! Bring on the recipes!!

I thihnk this sounds fantastic. The last time my mom and I made fish tacos we cut up pieces of tilapia, seasoned them, coated them in flour and panko and fried it. Not the healthiest, but added a ton a crunch and flavor.

The idea of fish tacos is so foreign to me, I can barely stomach the thought! I'm certain I will not try them unless I'm positive they've got a great reputation :) I'm guessing one episode of "bad" fish tacos would turn one off for life! :)

Thanks for stopping by today! Do you mind if I ask how you found me?

I like salmon tacos in wheat tortillas with lime, shredded lettuce and pico! Delish.

I've used canned salmon and fresh baked salmon as well. both work great!
