Kathy- I will be making this.. how long do you boil the peppers? It sounds fantastic, Ive never made my own hot sauce.

Donna,
I just asked my husband, and he said he boils them long enough that they change color (to a paler green) but not too long that the skin splits. He said they will become soft, so keep testing with your fork. Not sure if that helps you any!?!?! ;) LOL Some people prefer salsa - because they like it chunkier. I like them both!!! I'm glad you'll be trying it. You'll have to let us know how it turned out! Have a great weekend :o)

Kathy, how long will this keep in the refrigerator?

I can't wait to try this sauce! Wow it looks great. I've made salsa, but never hot sauce. I'm with you and I like them both :)

Mary, we've had it in our fridge for up to two weeks a couple of times. Usually it never lasts that long around here!

If anyone is thinking of doubling this recipe, I would urge them to try it with one Serrano first, before adding the next one!! Sometimes my hubby will even add another half, but not the whole second one! I tend to not like things as hot as he does! You could even use jalapenos instead of Serranos, but Serranos are more consistent!!! You never know if your jalapeno is going to be hot or not?!?!

Oh good, Heidi! You'll have to let us know how you like it!

I saw that you mentioned this will keep for up to 2 weeks in the fridge, which is great to know! I, personally, can't handle anything too spicy, but my husband would love this! I'd be reluctant to make it just for him, but if it will keep that long, he can slowly work on it! He'll be so excited!

I have to try this! I love that it keeps for 2 weeks in the fridge, not that it would last that long at my house.
